KAFCO was formed on 1st July 1963 with the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) having 51% of the shares and British Petroleum (BP) owning 49%.KAFCO had to a build new and bigger depot to cater to the growing demand for Jet fuel at Kuwait International Airport due to Airport expansion plan.
