Westfälische Drahtindustrie GmbH leads its company back to a wirefabration factory founded in 1856, which was already operated in 1872 as a corporation (AG) and from 1890 under the current name of WDI.For over 150 years, the company has taken a significant position in the wire industry both at home and abroad. After an intermittent consolidation of the group (Krupp / Klöckner), the company has been operating in the market again since 1 October 1987 under the name Westphalische Drahtindustrie GmbH.
