VCI's (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitors) protect all recessed cavities against corrosion and works on all metal surfaces. In an enclosure the VCI emits molecules which, in the presence of moisture, hydrolise to form VCI ions. These ions are attracted to metal surfaces and form a thin mono-molecular layer over the metal surface. These ions passivate the metal and cause it to be inert to corrosion or rusting.
