The Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (K.S.C) was founded on February 10, 2002 to represent the State of Kuwait in the Divided Zone. It began its primary role in that regard on January 5, 2003 when it took over from the Arabian Oil Company Ltd. In 2006, KGOC took over the responsibility to manage Kuwait share of the resources in the on-land Divided Zone that had been carried on by the Kuwait Oil Company. Since then, KGOC is responsible of managing all of the shared resources in the DZ (onshore & offshore).
