Vertical Discharge Design
The induce draft Type VI design offers combined engine and compressor cooling with multiple stage gas services in a single structure. It minimizes hot air recirculation due to its vertical discharge design and is virtually unaffected by variations in wind direction or the location of adjacent equipment in applications requiring induced draft cooling.
The Type VI's design provides greater section accessibility in applications requiring section replacement or change out. All sections are equipped with integral core guards for maximum protection of the exposed sections.
Superior Temperature Control
Adjustable aluminum shutters are an optional feature on all Type VI coolers and are located on the air inlet side of the sections for improved control of fluid outlet temperatures. Manual or automated shutters with remote linkage provide superior air-flow control and improved operating efficiency by allowing independent louver adjustment over separate services.
Normally V-belt driven from the engine or compressor the VI can be provided with an internal electric motor or hydraulic drive.
Inspection And Maintenance
Fan and fan bearings are provided with removable access doors for easy inspection and maintenance while the rear drive bearing is located outside in cooler ambient air for extended operating life. All bearings are serviced by means of remote lubrication fittings.
In addition to louvers located on the air Inlet side, low noise fans, bug screens, discharge or personnel guards, access ladders and occasionally warm air recirculation systems are other options.
