DETAIL DESCRIPTION

Advantage Summary

  • Can accommodate multiple cooling services in a single fan unit
  • Available as a Forced or Induced draft design with horizontal air flow
  • Round tube, box header contruction with ASME code designs
  • Small installation footprint
  • Easy access to sections
  • Excellent visual inspection and access to moving parts

Multiple services in a single unit

The Type VV is commonly used for gas, lube oil and water cooling applications where recirculation of hot discharge air is not critical. They are available in virtually all fan sizes as small as 24 while their flexibility allows use in a wide range of special applications

Forced or Induced Draft Design

Type VV coolers are available in either a forced (VVF) or induced draft (VVI) configuration with horizontal air flow and can be configured to meet individual installation requirements. Propeller type air-foil fans with either fixed or adjustable pitch result in higher efficiency and lower fan horsepower.

Section Accessibility

The Type VV's design provides greater section accessibility in applications requiring section replacement or change out. All sections are equipped with integral core guards for maximum protection of the exposed sections.

Temperature Control

Adjustable aluminum shutters are an optional feature on all VV models and are located on the air inlet side of the sections in induced draft models for improved control of fluid outlet temperatures. Manual or automated aluminum shutters are available offering superior air-flow control and improved operating efficiency by allowing independent louver adjustment over separate services.

Drive Options

Fans and can be V-belt driven from an engine or compressor or adapted to a variety of drive types -- direct, electric motor or hydraulic.

Inspection and Maintenance

Standard single fan and blower pillow-block bearing assemblies on both fan and idler is normal and assures proper alignment and easy maintenance when engine or compressor driven. Fan and idler bearings are also interchangeable on most standard units. Fans are provided with removable access guards for easy of inspection and maintenance.

Options

In addition to louvers located on the air Inlet or discharge side, low noise fans and bug screens are other options.
